Extended Day ChildcareThe Purpose of our Extended Care classroom is to offer a full day of care for students attending the Primary and Pre-Primary programs. This program is designed to coordinate with our school philosophy and routine, providing a wide variety of activities and materials which assists the child?s natural development. The program meets the Child Care Administration licensing requirements. The ratio of children per staff person may not exceed ten to one. through Friday from 7:00 a.m.* to 5:30 p.m. A detailed Daily Schedule
is posted in the classroom and in the parent handbook. Programs are
closed Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas through
New Years Day, Martin Luther King Holiday, President?s Day, three Professional
Days and a Spring Break (usually in April). Registration must be completed and returned with your Primary Registration. Parents may register for regular use of a specific time slot for the school year. Fees for this service are based upon an average of 20 class days per month. Advance notice is required for any changes in the child's regular schedule of attendance. Absences for illness or vacations, early pick-ups, school closings for weather, etc., are non-refundable. Payments are due by the first of the month. Monthly payments may be mailed to the school or deposited in a sealed envelope at the school office. Payment coupons are provided. Checks are preferred for your convenience and ours - payable to HCS. Our license limits the number of children in attendance at any given time. Therefore it is important that you observe your child?s scheduled pick-up time. For late pick-ups exceeding five minutes your child will be taken to the office and a fee of $3.00 per/every five minutes will be charged. Please observe the 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. operating hours for this program, as we cannot accommodate children beyond those times. Late pick-ups beyond the program's scheduled closing time of 5:30 pm will be charged at the rate of $1.00 per minute. Parents are responsible to sign in and out for the hours of their child?s attendance at the program each day. Transfers to and from the classroom will be signed by the staff. Children attending during lunch will need to provide their own bag lunch. The program provides milk and cold storage for lunches. Snacks are provided morning and afternoon as a part of the program. Children who attend before school may bring their breakfast. Cots and sheets are provided for the afternoon rest period. Send a small pillow and/or blanket for your child's use. Children who do not fall asleep for a nap are permitted to spend the time with quiet activities. All children should bring a complete change of clothing for this classroom in addition to their Primary classroom |
